Short Course Trucks

2wd Short Course trucks are the hottest thing on race tracks world-wide, and we’re specialising in SC racing at Launceston R/C.  Check out the Traxxas Slash, Team Associated SC10, HPI Blitz, Kyosho Ultima SC, Losi XXX-SC or Venom Gambler to get started. Any of these will make good race trucks at Launceston R/C.

Our 2wd SC truck racing follows these basic rules:

Minimum Overall Height…………………………………199mm
Minimum Weight……………………………………….. 2100grams
2 Wheel Rear Drive……………………………………… Geared or Ball Differential
Rear Suspension………………………………………… Independent or Solid Axle

Tyre/Wheel Specs (per ROAR SCT Rules):

Wheel Inner Bead Max Diameter……………………….. 3.0 in / 76.20mm
Wheel Outer Bead Max Diameter………………………. 2.2 in / 55.88mm
Wheel Bead Width Max………………………………… 1.55 in / 39.37mm

Carpet tyres have largely taken over in 2015 as we run more and more carpet on our track.  Schumacher Mini Pin and Proline Pinpoint tyres are recommended for good grip and long life.  In the past we have run an approved tyre list which was removed in 2015 as being counter productive in it’s intent of keeping the tyre cost in racing SCT down.
