The weekend of the 13th and 14th of February is shaping up to be a big weekend, and no I don’t mean Valentines day!
There are 2 events happening that weekend. Closer to home is the Tasmanian Truck Show which we have attended in the past to promote the club and display our sport to a wider audience. Held at Quercus park we normally shrink down the track, or vacate the premises for the event. However because of event 2 (read below) we may once again have to not display and clear out the shed.
Event 2 is more significant as it is the first round of the new National Series to decide the Australian Championships being held at latrobe for GP off Road. Even more important this year because the GP worlds are looking like being in Australia, and of course everybody wants to increase their ranking to get a slot to race a the worlds, so the competition will be intense for competitors and spectators alike. So this being a big deal for racing in Tasmania is an understatement.
Firstly, if you can get there to race, DO IT!!! The experience will be amazing. If you can’t race, at least get there for a morning or afternoon to see the best in Australia go at it. Thirdly if you have a little time on your hands, but can’t compete, why not volunteer your time to help out at the event. NWRCCC is a small club and I am sure they would appreciate the assistance, even if you are helping to marshal for somebody else, scruitineer or help at the canteen it all helps the event run smoothly.
So if you can help out, let the NWRCCC know, or let me (Greeny) know how much you can help or when. If you are interested in helping at the truck show, if the display goes ahead, then also let me know.
