So there is only 1 sleep to go until practice for the 2014 Chilli FM Launceston R/C Cup! I honestly can’t believe that it is here already!
For those that were wondering about last minute entries, there is a number of classes where we can still accept entries, so get them in as soon as you can, or see Greenie at race control on Friday Night.
For those wondering about the 2nd Schumacher tyre order from Acton R/C, well it arrived late yesterday and should be available for pickup at practice tomorrow night, probably after 7pm from me.
Remember we will have food, drinks Coffee and the canteen available at the Cup, so make sure you support the businesses that are supporting us by coming along.
The weekend is all about fun, but remember the normal racing rules not only apply, but will be more strictly enforced. This applies to both technical regulations (Blinky settings, tyre limitations etc etc) and driver behavior (including bad behavior and bad sportsmanship). You will be docked rounds or points for breeches, and you will have a stop go penalty applied to you for bad sportsmanship, so we want everybody on their best behavior. We are expecting a reasonable number of spectators for the weekend, and we want to present our sport in the best possible light. And remember if you have a question, or you are speaking with a member of the public that wants to know more, then pass them on to a member of the Committee. If you aren’t sure who they are, here is the listing of who holds what position.
President: Sam Wells
Secretary: Jade Chandler
Treasurer: Andrew Mackenzie
Track Director: Matthew Chandler
Race Director: Andrew Green
Committee Members:
- Justin Harwood
- Jarrod Painting
- Tom West
- Richard Green
- Damien Betts
Finally, a date for your diary, Saturday, October 25 is the Launceston Scale Model Club Expo where Launceston RC usually has a display to promote the club, and some space to run cars and show what our hobby is all about to attendees of the expo. It is one of the largest model expos, if not the largest, in the state and this year it looks like we will have a display from the Tas Radio Rock Crawlers as well as the Tas RC Drifters. So if you have any vehicles from any of these genres, please help is man out display from 9am to 5pm. We will post more details of this event after the Launceston CR/C Cup has concluded.
