13, 14 and 15 September 2013
Following on from its success in 2011 and 2012, Launceston R/C is proud to announce the 2013 Tiger Models Launceston Cup. There are several changes for the 2013 event which we hope will enable us to build upon what was generally considered to be the biggest and best R/C event in Tasmania in many years.
We’re in a new, bigger and better indoor venue, enabling not only a better track facility, but room for additional Radio Control Displays and demonstrations to be incorporated into the Launceston Cup event. And we’ve switched to a full off-road track rather than our hybrid layout of previous years and have developed an even bigger and more exciting multi-surface offroad track. The well-loved track features such as the Wall Ride return for 2013, joined by a heap of challenging new track features.
To maximise the potential of the event and to enable us to exceed the 104 entries that we received in 2012 event, we are expanding the event to take place across a full weekend of racing. Friday evening will see a Practice session form 6pm to 9pm, Saturday and Sunday will see doors open at 7:30am with Racing beginning at 9am. Different classes will be racing each day with qualifying occurring in the morning, and finals in the afternoon.
Support from other R/C clubs in Tasmania has been exceptionally strong, with Racers coming from all corners of the state for the 2013 Tiger Models Launceston Cup. With the extension of the event to two days, combined with our new venue and we hope to build upon last year’s event with a fantastic 2013 Launceston Cup. Big numbers, together with the spirit of sportsmanship, a high level of competition and the camaraderie in the pits will be exciting to see.
Entry for spectators during the event is free, and we invite everybody to come out and have a look at the event at the Uniquely Tasmanian Pavilion at Quercus Park, Carrick, to take in the atmosphere and enjoy the smallest and most affordable form of motorsport in the country. There will be hot food provided by Bracknell Primary School, Displays form the Tas Radio Rock Crawlers and Tas RC Drifters on Sunday as well as a major raffle including hundreds of dollars of Radio Control equipment.
We would also like to thank our Event Sponsors, Tiger Models and Hobbies, Proline Racing, Team Xray, ACE Hobby Distributors, Action RC and RC Race Supplies.
