A bit of a Cup / Transponder update for a monday Morning!
Entries for the Launceston Cup are slowly rolling along now, with Short Course Truck Stock and Stadium truck being the hot classes at the moment!
Our first parcel of prizes has also arrived with details being added to the 2013 Tiger Models Launceston Cup page, check out the goodies! Tickets will be $2 each, or 3 for $5.
In other news Launceston RC will be upgrading their Decoder before the Launceston Cup so that Pure RC4 transponders will work. Unfortunately one side effect of this is that MRT transponders will no longer work at Launceston RC. AMBrc and Mylaps transponders will all work on the upgraded decoder except the very old AMB 20 decoders. If you have a red mylaps decoder, it will work.
To help those that have MRT decoders, or new racers that have none at all, Launceston RC has secured 10 new RC4 transponders that are up for grabs. There will be a limit of 1 per person, and preference will be given to new drivers with no transponder, or those with MRT transponders that they need to replace. Cost will be $40. Reply here or speak with Greeny or Greenie to have your name added to the list. These will not last long at this price.

I need one, but not to replace a MRT etc.
So I don’t have to swap between cars between classes.
I’d like to be put on the list also, but don’t have an MRT one that needs replacing.
Can I be put on the list please. Would like a 2nd transponder.

I’ll take one, but not to replace a MRT. Also, I think mylaps were doing a trade deal on MRTs. If you traded it into mylaps directly they’d give a discount on the new RC4 pure, not sure if that is still going though.
There is information about this on the mylaps website, but it only refers to AMBrc and cloned transponders, not specifically to MRT ones http://www.mylaps.com/en/products/rc4-upgrades/183
I believe the “cloned transponders” are the MRT PTX transponders. If you trade it in you can get the new RC4 Pure for only $40.
Are the transponders the RC4 Hybrid ones or are they RC4 only ?

Hi Richard, My name is Tim Kulhanek. Just starting out, my foray into the world of RC racing was fairly short-lived burning out my ESC in the practice session last week!
I have a MRT so would like to get one for the coming Cup races.
When will the decoder be changed over? as I wouldn’t mind coming through for a Friday night race meet before hand
the decoder will be updated as soon as this lot of transponders turn up, in preperations for the Launceston Cup, so we know if there are any issues with the update, and gives us time to fix any that do appear.
We’ll post up on the web site when this happens to let everyone know!!
I just had a call from Mylaps, the Transponders will be arriving in about 3 days time.
