2013 Tiger Models Launceston Cup Update

I thought it was time for a bit of an update on the Launceston Cup!

Sponsor Update
The big news is that we can announce that Ace Hobby Distributors have once again come to the party and are once again sponsors for the 2013 Launceston Cup!  A big thankyou to them for their support of Launceston RC, and the Launceston Cup.

Entry Update
Entries have been starting to roll in finally, however they ave been mostly from GOMCC, come on guys at Launceston R/C and NWRCCC, get those entries in! The 2013 Tiger Models Launceston Cup page has been updated with the entries so far.  Remember if you have not entered yet, head to the Online Entry Form

Tas Interclub Series
In other exciting news, the 2013 Tiger Models Launceston Cup will also double as the first round of the 2013 Interclub Series .  However whereas last year it was Club vs Club, this year the series will be a Drivers Series, with drivers competing for individual glory!  More details of rounds at the NWRCCC and GOMCC will come as they are available.

Track Layout
As with previous years, there will be changes to the track to mitigate some of the advantage by those familiar with the existing layout and obstacles at Launceston RC.  The changes will be in place for the Friday Night Practice on the 13th.  However if you have carpet or Artificial Turf laying about the place at home in large quantities, the Track Team is always on the lookout for more track supplies!

Displays
We have confirmed that the Tas Radio Rock Crawlers will be at the Cup on Sunday the 15th with a display of vehicles, and hopefully some demonstrations.  The Tas RC Drifters and Phoenix Fliers have both expressed interest in displays so we hope that we will see them at the Cup! If any other groups are interested in attending on Sunday for a display, please let us know ASAP

Volunteers
Over the next few weeks we will be looking for volunteers to help on the three days of the Launceston Cup.  If you are able to help out in any of these areas, please let us know in the comments section, via email, or at the track, speak with Greeny or Greenie.

  • We’ll be wanting to do some scrutineering during the day (nothing heavy-handed, but we want to make sure it’s a level playing field)
  • some help with checking everybody in on Saturday and Sunday morning
  • some raffle ticket sellers
  • Some help manning the canteen on Saturday and Sunday. Even if just for 1 hour stints.
  • Some Parking Attendants both mornings to direct traffic as it will be parked at a different location for the Cup.

Thanks
hanks again to our supporters Tiger Models,  Proline, Xray,  Action RC, RC Race Supplies and Ace Hobby Supplies. We’ll have some great raffle prizes on offer to enable you to take home some new R/C gear. Special note to say thanks to the Launceston R/C team putting it all together.

And to all those who are planning on coming along to make this a cracking event – we’ll see you there!
