Racing this week…and AGM Thurs 16/8

Three announcements!

First, racing is on again this Thursday night as we kick off the Spring 2012 Championship Series. This series takes us through to the end of the year. As usual, doors will be open by 6pm, with racing underway by 7pm. See Greenie on your arrival to register for the night’s racing.  Trophies for the (just completed) Autumn 2012 Series are on order and should be presented next fortnight.

Secondly, it’s that time of year when we gather for our Annual General Meeting. This year the meeting takes place Thursday 16th August, commencing 6.30pm. It will be followed by open practice.  The major business of the AGM is receipt of reports (financial, presidents etc) and election of officers and committee members for the 2012/13 Financial Year. If you (or someone you know) are willing to stand for election as President, Secretary, Treasurer, Race Director, Track Coordinator or general committee positions, please talk with Paddy Hume or Richard Green.  It’s time to step up and make Launceston R/C even better. There will be a full agenda available soon, but for now put the time/date in your diary and please make every effort to be there.

Thirdly, it’s membership time.  2012/13 club memberships are now due. Please see Richard Green for membership forms, or complete the on-line form.  Membership fees are unchanged at $50 for adults, $30 for juniors, $80 for family.

Well folks this it…..this will be Pete n Angs last race meeting in Tassie before moving back to Darwin. Would like to thank everyone for all your support assistance and friendship since arriving in Tassie 3 1/2yrs ago. We have made some very good friendships down here. If anyone ever wishes to visit the NT you are more than welcome to contact us. Special thanks to the committee of Launcesto R/C for all they have done for rc racing in Tassie and putting up with my occassional dummyspit (lol). Everyone will be sadly missed by us.
All the best for the future yo the club and all competitors. We hope to return for a visit next year.
