A couple of things going on at Launceston R/C this week….
Sunday Race at Latrobe
The North-West R/C Car Club are hosting their regular club race at Latrobe (in the grounds of Bendigo Bank Arena) this Sunday, and inviting Launceston R/C regulars to come along and try racing on an outdoor dirt track.
NWRCCC will run short course and tenth classes, and novice as well if there are sufficient entries, alongside their normal 8th EP and GP Buggy and GP Truggy classes. It’s a great race track and definitely a fun day out. Be there by about 9am to nominate. You’ll definitely know people there, including Launceston R/C regulars Josh Fogarty, Scott Guyatt, Mark Rayner, Matt Hodgetts, Justin Strickland, Ian Scott, James Atkinson, Sam Wells and more.
AGM & Practice Night
Reminder that on Thursday night starting at 7pm we’ll have our 2010-11 annual general meeting. We’ll be receiving reports, making a couple of financial decisions, electing a new committee and officers for the club, and have a short discussion about future directions for the club.
Once the meeting is done, if time permits we’ll run a short “School of R/C” session on suspension tuning, and then open the race track for free practice (free of charge for members, $5 for non-members). The track will remain closed until the meeting finishes, and then close by 10pm at the latest.
Come and join in at both the AGM and the Sunday race at Latrobe.
And look out for an announcement about a Sunday trip to Hobart to race on the Goodwood Model Offroad Club’s all new track…sometime soon.
And I forgot to say, we’re still taking nominations for committee or officer positions. Shoot Scott an email for more information.
Unfortunately couldn’t get to the last Latrobe meet so hoping for some good weather this Sunday. It feels like ages since I’ve raced at Latrobe, looking forward to having a run 🙂
