Racing this week….and news…

The cold weather is upon us, and that means one thing:  the winter racing season is here.  This Thursday, June 9th is the first of a six-race winter series, with each driver’s best five results to count. Points are accrued by club members, but non-members are (as always), very welcome to join us.

Race classes this week will be the usual mix of Short Course Trucks, Tenth Buggy, Tourers, 8th Big Bangers and Novice.

Some extra news for this week:

Transponders

We’ll be doing a second order of Transponders to arrive before the Launceston Cup. If you missed out on the first order, or want to grab an additional unit, please see Greenie or Scott. Ideally we’ll need money from you as well. We’ll be placing this order within the next week to ensure that the transponders arrive in time for the Launnie Cup. Again we expect cost to be about $100.

New Season….New Track Layout?

That’s the rumour….changes to the track layout for the new race season.  We’ll find out for sure when we throw the doors open at 6pm on Thursday night.

Tiger Models Launceston Cup

The Tiger Models Launceston Cup is now just three weeks away. Don’t forget to hit the event details page and find your way to the online entry form and pre-enter for the event. Check too that your car meets the rules for the event (there are motor restrictions for 2wd Stock and Tourers, plus the usual chassis/motor/tyre rules for the Short Course Truck class). We’re looking forward to this being a good event, and even if you’re totally new to the sport, this will be a fun day out.

      • Paddy says:

No need to bring sweeper Ian. We have bought a 240v vac/blower. Your sweeper is good and all, but seems to make a fine dust everywhere, and that makes it slippery.
        Cheers

      • James says:
