2010 Tasmanian 8th Offroad Championships

The 2010 Big Boys Toys AARCMCC 8th Offroad Tasmanian Championships are now less that two months away.  The first time this even has ever been run, it will be hosted by the North West R/C Club at their Latrobe off-road raceway from 9th to 12th December 2010.

There are classes for nitro buggy, nitry truggy, and electric buggy – all 8th scale.

Full information on the event is here:  http://www.nwrccc.com/index.php?p=1_48

You can enter online, view current entries, and eventually follow race results live at Slyfox here:  http://76.164.192.66/SlyFoxlive/Default.aspx

You can visit AARCMCC to download full rules here: http://www.aarcmcc.org/

There are quite a few regular Launceston R/C racers who’ll be running in the championships.  While the entry list is far from finalised, we’d imagine that in 8th truggy we’ll see Graham Viney, Michael Peck, Dave Holloway, Andrew Barrett, Josh Fogarty and Scott Guyatt.  In GP buggy Graham Viney and Steve Madziara will take on the world, while in 8th EP buggy Launceston’s Sam Wells, Paddy Hume, Josh Fogarty and Scott Guyatt should be there.

If you’re at all interested in racing and have a suitable vehicle, let me encourage you to do so.  There’s nothing like the experience of a big race.  The Tas Champs will attract some of Australia’s most experienced off-road racers, and will be a heap of fun.

If you’re not keen to race, but want to be there – the NWRCCC guys are very keen for volunteers to help out. Hit their website and contact the club’s exec for more info.
