After last week’s monster event, racing continues this week at Launceston R/C’s Rutherglen raceway. Expect big fields in Short Course, tourers, 8th and buggy classes once again as racers gather from across the region.
Paddy will be running the show this week, so be sure to check in with him and get your entry in when you arrive.
We’re working hard on getting a driver’s stand in place…and hope it might be ready by this week. Either way, it’s not far off.
Drop into the comments and let us know what you’re planning on racing this week!
drivers stand will be finished on thursday……. cant wait to use it
Awesome!! That’s great news… See you all on Thursday!!
What should I race with that’s the question!!
even better news the main frame is officially done just need to clean up welds and paint then finally put timber on and cut in half…. dad will weld the stand together out at rutherglen on thursday and bolt it to the ground….. should get a launceston r/c banner to put on the stand like a skirt…
Well, its official.. You guys have converted me. Sold my last nitro today (revo 3.3) and am looking to replace it with a 1/8 brushless buggy… so if you have one you want to sell let me know… (bearhooverpup@bigpond.com)
See you all Thursday woohoo!!
Ben
Im there this week and i can give you a hand with the timing if needed Paddy? Thanks and L8r James
Should be right for timing thanks James! I’ll only be running one car Thursday,
Also we need to find out if we are actually allowed to bolt it to the ground. I will be ringing Rutherglen tomorrow to negotiate with “the man” about it… 😉
Ok Paddy, i think theres some dyna bolts is the best one to use for the drivers stand!
Also ive found some more speed out of the Slash; When i lost my stub axle when i removed the slipper clutch and i loosened it a bit today and i think ive got about 5 maybe 10kph out of it from last meeting! L8r JA
stand is done could u please let dad know about bolting the stand down…. dad has got something to suggest he will tell u tomorrow…
WEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
Race day is near, car is almost ready, keen as!!!
see you all there!

hi paddy is stand able to be bolted down or not doesnt matter much just be the tiniest bit roccky…..

I cant see it being a problem being bolted down Josh.
Especially if its safer…

13/5m14.437s
Great night last night, thanks to all who had input into the erevo’s new setup… really made a big improvement….
Thanks
Ben
It means you did 13 laps in 5 mins 14.4 secs 🙂
Hopefully i can extract last nights results from the lappy and get them to Scott…
I had an bay day at the office, I did ok for the first two runs then my negative motor wire came loose and i gave my original set of BF Goodriches to joshua for the night.
I gave my new set a run and he only used two of them so i’d thrown them back on the rears for the final and i loosened my clutch for some extra speed and i also was playing with my setup for the night too so im going back to the hard setup for rutherglen for next round of racing! See Ya at Paddy’s! James
ok cool, thanks Paddy,
Dirt racing continues at Hillwood tomorrow!! Can i get an idea of who was planning on coming tomorrow? 10am for 11am first heat.
Cheers.
Im Still heading up for a run! Car and batteries are ready to fly some dirt around and test the new set of my BFG Tyres! L8r James
Weather permitting, Me and the boys will be there.
will be there if weather holds out
can someone please tell me tomorrow if a loose or tight slipper clutch is better for the dirt??
The slipper clutch was never designed as a traction aid.
They are designed to prevent damage to the drive train,
especially when you have the power down while in the air and then landing.
oh but surley if the slipper clutch slips the wheels wont spin
But it isnt good on the hard surfaces like i experienced it in the final; drifting isnt the way to go in a final especially in to the first corner at rutherglen!
Will be there Paddy
I use my slipper as traction control mate. And also to protect gears…
You need to find the right balance.
It needs to slip a little but not so much your motor spools up and overheats while trying to accelerate.
Dave have you remembered the bag of revo bits
Of course Dave. Mine never slips too much. I should say I mostly use it for gear protection. And in my B44 it’s the only reason it’s used. Your finger is the traction control. But in a 2wd like a SC it’s a good helping hand, especially if it’s a loose surface.
Sorry guys but we will not make it today.
I do need to go into town later Ian so I will drop those parts off.
Have fun 😎
Thats no good Dave. Thanks dave put them at front door
thanks for that guys i loosened mine a little bit
